So a very good friend [ let's call her...nikki XD ] made a painting and she says it's "still life" but I say it's "abstract" and another very good crazy friend [ let's call her spikette2108 ] says it's "impressionism"...here it is, so what do you think it is? [ ©2007 ~Nikkita-Tenjou ]

I said it's impressionism. Accept it already damn it!
Yo siento que es levemente surrealista, aunque la técnica si tiene aire impresionista. Pero definitivamente NO es un abstracto, porque cualquiera que lo vea sabe que es un pez.
I said it's abstract....and maybe impressionism....anyway it's fine
I'm beginning to think it might actually be Surrealism as chela said...
Wow, the painting is awesome! I say Nikki's a great artist... And as for style, I think surrealism would fit. And the very bright colourful colours kind of remind me of expressionism, but that's only the colours...
Es surrealismo
I think that is abstract art because even if you recognize a fish on it, the context around it's not "real"...
Nope, not impressionism, not surrealism...
If it's anything at all, it's fauvism. Yes, the fauves' style was derived from impressionism, but it didn't use the same techniques for applying color. Google Monet and then google Matisse... this is more Matisse than Monet. The bright, solid colors are a characteristic of fauvism, impressionists used, mostly short strokes and more studied, less "shiny" mixes of color.
Ah, that's why I didn't see why some people said it was imressionistic... cause when I imagine something of impressionism it's rather a landscape made in blurried colours, kind of looking like made in a hurry, or I don't know how to desribe it... XD But these bright colours didn't just seem to me fitting impressionism at all...
Woah, it's an entry with the far highest number of comments... where did all these guys suddenly jump from? XD
:P yeah I paid all of them to comment on it XD...nah, just had it on my nick and sent some links here and there to people I knew could have a point of view on this...
